Le Prieuré Saint Agnan

Curiously set against its Romanesque church, the Prieuré Saint-Agnan guest house is a magical place: an island of greenery and tranquillity in the heart of the busy little town of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire. Since the priory was sold as national property in 1790, it has always been occupied by families, and to this day it remains a family home offering five guest rooms, arranged around a large lounge-library. The four bedrooms on the 1st floor are accessed via the grand outside staircase. Three of them have a view of the Loire and the fourth, which is more secret, overlooks an inner courtyard opposite the stained-glass windows of Saint-Agnan church. On the ground floor, the chambre du Clocher has its own access to the garden and its bathroom has been created in one of the old wine cellars.
