Stay in this former boatmen’s house, situated on the banks of the Loire, in a setting typical of the Loire Valley, where tuffeau stone, rolling hills and troglodyte dwellings come together. An ideal spot to enjoy the gentle charm of the Loire, explore the heritage of the Saumur region, cycle along the ‘La Loire à Vélo’ route or simply unwind whilst gazing out over the river.

There are two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and separate entrance. The ‘Troglo d’hôtes’ family room, measuring approximately 38 m², is accessed via an old stone staircase. It comprises a bedroom with a 160 x 200 cm bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. A second adjoining room features a small kitchenette and a 90 x 190 cm bed. Both rooms are accessible from the outside and are also connected internally via a small, narrow passageway with a low ceiling. Outside, you can enjoy a small, elevated private garden with garden furniture and a lovely view of the Loire.

The ‘La Toue’ bedroom, measuring approximately 9.5 m² (14 m² floor area), is situated in the main house and is equipped with a 160 x 200 cm bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. Access is via a fairly steep external staircase.

You’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast served in the dining room of the owners’ house, before setting off to explore the region.

The accommodation is ideally situated for visiting the must-see attractions of the Saumur area. In particular, you can explore the famous Bioparc de Doué-la-Fontaine, 19 kilometres away. Further east, discover Saumur, 12 kilometres away, with its famous château and the renowned Cadre Noir. Finally, enjoy the gentle beauty of the Loire, its natural heritage, its châteaux and its famous vineyards.

The house is situated directly on the ‘La Loire à Vélo’ cycle route, and there is a bike shed available to store your bicycles safely. On site, an enclosed courtyard, a car park in front of the property, sun loungers, garden furniture and a barbecue overlooking the Loire are at your disposal so you can make the most of the fine weather.

Rate for children aged 5 to 14: €10 per night. Children under 5 stay free of charge.

Whether you’re coming for a few days as a couple, with your family or as a stopover on the ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycle route, you’ll enjoy a peaceful and authentic setting here, nestled between the Loire and the troglodyte caves.
