In the heart of the Alpes Mancelles conservation area, between river and rock, Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei draws all its charm from its local stone houses - Roussard sandstone - perched on the cliffs and along the river. The village owes its origins to Céneri, a hermit who founded a monastery in the 7th century. Not to be missed: the church built on the rocky outcrop with its remarkable paintings, its chapel in the middle of the meadow...

In the 19th century, the village's charm attracted a number of renowned painters, who together created the "Saint-Céneri School". A discovery trail entitled "Saint-Céneri sur le motif" ("Saint-Céneri on the motif") takes you back in time.
