The surrounding countryside, mainly made up of hillsides planted with the vines used to produce our precious spirit, opens up to you. If it's too hot to pedal, many owners will open the doors of their brandy cellars to you. You'll be able to taste Vin de Pays Charentais, Pineau des Charentes and Cognac, in moderation of course.

You can also take advantage of the towpath along the Charente and even follow the Flow Vélo, an itinerary that runs from Sarlat-la-Canéda in the Dordogne along the river to Fouras, opposite the Ile d'Aix.
