A place of history: In the completely restored former Carmelite convent, the daily life of the slate quarry workers is revealed. Coffee swallowed on the kitchen table, next to the stove. The pay collected at the café counter, a veritable hub of life in the town. "Legend has it that there were as many cafés as there were slate quarry holes. IN APRIL: The museum is open Monday to Friday, 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Saturday, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5:30pm. Sunday, 2pm to 5:30pm. MAY to SEPTEMBER: Open daily from 10am to 11:30am and from 2pm to 6pm. OCTOBER: Open weekends only, from 2pm to 5:30pm or by appointment. GOOD TO KNOW: (During this period (May to September), the Capitainerie will be held on the premises of the Musée de l'Ardoise. FREE ADMISSION.
